The Twelve Powers for 2010!
Would you like to feel more fulfilled, centered and in charge of your life? Unity International Headquarters has Designated 2010 as The Year of the Twelve Powers. Charles Fillmore, Unity’s co-founder, identified 12 spiritual gifts, which were expressed perfectly by Jesus and are present in every person. Beginning in January, a variety of resources will be offered free online from Unity Headquarters to help you understand and apply one new power each month. Through the month of January the focus is on the Spiritual Power of FAITH. Articles, affirmations, meditations, music and inspiring prayers will be available at www.unity.org/12powers. We invite you on this yearlong spiritual journey to tap into your divine power and more fully express the Christ within.

A Unity Minded Support Group!
John McComb with Margaret Stevens
A Unity Minded Support Group
Many of you recently expressed interest at a Unity service in becoming part of a spiritual support group to meet weekly in Ashland. As described to most of you, this is a spiritual support group designed to help all of us achieve and stay in a higher spiritual state and live a more fulfilled and beautiful life. We will use Inner Guidance and unconditional love as the energy to lead the group and determine where it goes. Come and help us create something meaningful for each of us which something worthwhile for the world as well.
This group meets Wednesdays at 6:15 p.m. in a meeting area of Mountain View Senior Center at North Main and Maple St.. We decided to meet there because they have excellent facilities and because Rev. Margaret Stevens is interested in being a member; and that is where she lives. By holding the meetings there, we have the blessing of Margaret being able to join us.
Mountain View is easy to find by going north on North Main Street to the stoplight at Maple Street (Ashland Hospital is to the left on Maple). Turn right at the light which leads into Mountain View. Park and go in the main entrance, then take the elevator inside on your right down one floor. The meeting area is adjacent.
Please call or email me at (818) 307-0936 or johncmccomb@97520.net and let us know if you will be able to attend. We have chosen this day and time for the initial setting but will adjust if there is a better time for everyone. The meeting should last for an hour or two.

Special Ceremony for All Souls Day!
This week Rev. Norma Nakai will be leading a special ceremony honoring those who were meaningful to us and who have passed from our lives. Each of you are invited to bring mementos and photos of these meaningful others. This could include family and friends, beloved pets, and also beloved teachers and leaders who have influenced you. You are also welcome to bring flowers and sacred objects (which will be returned to you after the ceremony), to help us create a beautiful altar in their memory and celebrate their legacy to us.
Come remember them and also remember who YOU are!!! Join us November 1st for this special event!

There is still a lot to do to make the site what we want it to be, but we are off to a good start!
We'd love to hear from you! If you have any thoughts or suggestions about the site and what works and what doesn't work for you, please let us know. At the bottom of each page is a 'Contact Webmaster' link, or you can use the contact form on the Contact page. Let us know what you think! You can also email us at unityashland@gmail.com. See you on the Web!

Unity has a new web site and blog!
We are proud to announce that, in addition to this new blog, Unity in Ashland has a new web site! Designed by Unity member, Alexandria Weinbrecht, our new site promises to bring in new members and offer existing members many new online resources. While it is still under development, the present state of the site is an exciting start for things to come! Check it out at unityashland.com! We are also in the process of creating a presence on Facebook, Webspirit in Ashland, and the Ashland Resource Center, where we will be announcing our new classes and programs. Stay tuned...
